Kerri Jefferis
So Free, So Powerless, So Psychopath
So, they say if you can’t beat them join them, right? But what if cant and beat are overrated and them or they are all psychopaths anyway?
In a part lecture, part collective investigation, Kerri will draw parallels between the preferred personality type that Neoliberal society demands and Robert Hares psychopath checklist. Using this as a frame for reference, we will engage in some kind of group therapy/emancipatory shifting of power and agency. With any luck**
Expect discussions on artist as entrepreneur, complicity and resistance, dreams, non-binary explanations of power and why identity and the definitions of art are so polarised in a market-based economy.
Kerri is an artist living in London who is unsure whether she has made any art just yet. She is interested in how our environments dictate to our physical and affective ‘selves’ and, above all forms and mechanisms that allow for escape.
